As part of this year's One City, One Book program, Malden Reads is hosting a Coversation on Race using the 2018 book selection, "The Hate U Give" by Angie Thomas, and incorporating insights from the Boston Globe Spotlight Series.

Join us for a discussion on race with special guests Kerri Greenidge, Brendan Kiely, Keith Knight, Neil Swidey.

Brendan Kiely is the author of our companion book "All-American Boys" (co-authored by Jason Reynolds), a Coretta Scott King award winner.

Keith Knight is a Malden native and well-known cartoonist and musician whose work often deals with political, social and racial issues.

Neil Swidey is a Boston Globe writer and author of The Assist: Hoops, Hopes and the Game of their Lives,
and co-author of Last Lion: The Fall and Rise of Ted Kennedy.

The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Kerri Greenidge, an historian, researcher, lecturer, and CoDirector
of the African American Freedom Trail Project.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

After the panel, we invite you to stay for light refreshments and to continue the conversation.
